The Training Department at MORC has trained more than 50,000
individuals since 1979. People trained include direct care
staff, vocational staff, community and in-home support staff,
parents and foster parents, clinical staff, and administrative
personnel.
There are two dedicated training locations, with a total
of six classrooms, at the MORC Auburn Hills office and a satellite
training location on the campus of Macomb Community College
in Clinton Township. In addition to these locations, the Training
Department also offers off-site training for many classes
on request.
The majority of training participants are caregivers for
people with disabilities. The Training Department has a wide
variety of training approaches, including classroom instruction
using the adult learning model, practica, hands-on workshops,

presentations at government and nonprofit agencies around
the country and internationally.
