“Ray” of Hope – Never Give Up!

Ray Schuholz is a community leader in Wayne County, Michigan.  He is committed to helping people share their stories in ways that teach us how communities are stronger when everyone’s gifts are valued.

Ray promotes Person-Centered Planning and Self-Determination through the sharing of his story about his life when he lived in an institution, in foster care homes and provider run homes, compared to his life now that he self-directs an individualized budget and is an active and contributing member of his community.  Ray’s life story is the story of mental health and self-determination in Michigan.
